a Friend's wedding

Last few weeks, I went back to Jakarta to attend Erick's friend wedding. Erick's childhood friend is Stephanie Hoetomo, who married the son of Mr Trihatma Haliman, the owner of Agung Podomoro Group. The wedding was held at The Central Park ball room. Too bad I didn't take many pics as my clutch couldn't fit my camera, so these photos were taken using my iPhone.

Happy Birthday Papi!!

It is May 28th today, and I would like to say Happy Birthday to my dearest daddy.. =)
Today is my father's 51st birthday. Unfortunately I can't be in Jakarta for his birthday because last 2 weeks I just went home and next month I'll be going back to Jakarta again. Oh how I wish I could be with him and have dinner with my family.

As you can see from my profile, I am a family oriented girl, which means family is the most important thing in the world for me. I have lots of stories to tell about my father, but I'll just pick some of the most memorable stories that I've had with him.
I am very proud of my father. I really admire him for what he has done to my family. He is a very hardworking man who loves to spend time with his family. He is truly wise, yet he has a good sense of humor. I remember that when I was a child, I wasn't really like him for a very silly reason; he liked to tease me. Haha. And I remember that I said to my mommy that "Mommy, I like you more than I like papi, because you always love me and never tease me" oh how innocent I was. LOL

When I was in kindergarten and early primary school, I often make some origami for him, or I'll draw something silly for him. He would comment on that piece of my work, and I'll feel happy because of his funny comment. Few years ago, there was a time when I was crying and I was looking for him. I told all my burden and thoughts to him, and at the end of the conversation I asked him "Do you still love me like you were when I was a kid?". He stared at me and open his cupboard, and show me all single things that I gave to him when I was a child, and he said "These are all the things you made for me years back, now that you've grown up, sometimes I would still open my cupboard and see these things that reminds me how much you love me. Dear, I will always love you no matter what" I started crying and felt so relieved to hear that. Wasn't that sweet and lovely? :)

When I grew up as a teenage girl, I started to realize that my father is truly God's gift to me. I could ask any questions to him from school life, lessons of life and maybe love life sometimes. He is very knowledgeable, and he always answer every questions I asked him.
Well, although I am not coming from a rich family, I would say that my father has brought a very big changes to my family life. I remembered that when I was a kid, eating in a restaurant or having a cup of coffee in a cafe is a "rare thing" for me. Whereby now, He could send me to Singapore to study and provide my family with a very very good life. I could say that each of my family member could fulfill everything that we need and wants, even some unimportant luxurious things that we wanted. I should thank him for what we have now. He is a superman for me.

Now that I am studying in Singapore, I often miss him so much. Although we always communicate through phone at least once in 3 days, I would still miss him so bad.

I've sent a birthday card to him, but I don't think he had received it because he didn't say anything when I called him this morning. hehe, I wish that he will receive it within this 1 or 2 days.

Here are some photos of ours:

Can't wait till he's here!

Next month, I'll be going back to Indo for 3 days. It is actually my grandma's bday, so I should go back and celebrate with her. Although it is only for 3 days, I wish I could meet my beloved friends, monica, juju, jeje and elyn .. unfortunately I may not meet alice this holiday because she won't go back to Indo this june/july..

And what's even more interesting is, My bro will be going to Singapore with me and stay here for 3 days. He wants to go to Universal Studio so bad, so he decided to go to Singapore and go there. Ahhh how I miss talking non sense with him and quarreling for unimportant things. Wish I could meet him very soon and have a talk together.

Here are some photos of me and my bro, taken when we had a family Christmas trip in Phuket in December 2009.

Can't wait till I meet my family and friends next month,

Tea Time!!

One of my favorite drinks of all time is tea. Tea can be suited to all occasions. I remember that my grandma always told me that it is good to have a cup of tea after you have your meal, especially when your meal was oily. Because of her, I am quite addicted to tea, especially Chinese tea (Oolong tea)

Anyway this picture is just taken when I googled "green tea" but it reminds me of my grandma serving a cup of tea for me back in Jakarta. =)

Yesterday I went to ION Orchard to have dinner with Erick, and when I was passing by TWG Tea cafe, I remembered that I got a 1 for 1 voucher from Her World Magazine. I shouldn't missed this promotion, so I decided to grab 2 tubes of their tea.
Their pricing is quite expensive, it is selling at $35 per tube, but because I have a 1 for 1 promotion, I decided to grab them. I didn't take picture of all their haute couture tea, but I have 2 pics of tea which I bought yesterday =)
At first I didn't know which tea to pick because they have so many ranges of choices and I can't resist their pretty and cute packaging. I asked the person who was working there to recommend me of their signature tea, and he said that this is the best selling black tea in TWG.

Other than that I also bought a tube of green tea which was suggested by him. I definitely love the smell of their green tea, because they blend it together with blossom cherries and berries, what a perfect green tea combination! =)

Anyway, TWG cafe looks so tempting but yesterday I didn't get the chance to try it because we were very full because of our dinner. But I really want to have their tea and cakes =)

with love,
Meryl

Saturday Date

Saturday is always the best day of the week. I woke up late, then I wrote my two previous blogs. After that, we decided to go to Vivo City to have our meal for the day. Previously we wanted to go to either Bakerzin or King Louis to have our meal, but after looking at king Louis’ menu, we decided to go there on weekdays because the price would be much cheaper. In the end, we decided to have 1 for 1 lunch promotions menu at Fig&Olive. The restaurant was nice, and it wasn’t too pricey.

While waiting for the food, I asked Erick to take a pic for me

happily and hungrily waiting for the food

Chicken Pesto Carbonara

That’s my Chicken Pesto Carbonara. It’s actually a grilled chicken with melted cheese, and it is served with grilled baby potatoes and creme spaghetti. I love the taste, and I’m also sure that Erick loved it too. He couldn’t stop picking some of the spaghetti and his favorite mayo potatoes ;) hehehe.

Maghribi Chicken w Olive Rice

This is Erick’s choice for the day. Their maghribi chicken were tasty, it was spicy but wasn’t hot. The olive rice tastes like nasi briyani, but with lighter flavor. I personally think that Erick preferred my menu rather than his, because mine was very creamy, while his chicken was spicy. hohoho.

My latest shopping fever

On this Saturday afternoon, I have nothing to do. I really enjoy my afternoon at home. Then I open my cupboard and treasure my pretty dresses. Here are some pics of my newly bought dresses.

I bought this orange dress at “individual expression” at Tangs dept store. Previously I don’t really like to go shopping to any dept store. But after looking at few pretty brands they have, I started to fall in love with some of their dresses. I bought this dress for a family occasion.

After getting the dress for my family occasion, I was so relieved. But after a week of shopping, I walked around ION orchard and fell in love with this red dress. dress doesn’t look good in photo, but I definitely look stunning wearing this red dress. It makes me feel confident and slim =p.

I don’t have a proper picture of me showing this dress. But here are some picture of me wearing this warehouse red dress.

Me and Juju chilling in BakerzInn

I have one full body picture wearing this dress, but I don’t think the picture is clear.

Other than that, before I went back to Jakarta, I grabbed a palette eye shadow from Dior. I love the color and all the stuffs inside. It is so complete so that I won’t need to bring so many cosmetics if I’m going for a holiday.

love the color

And lastly, yesterday I was walking around orchard road and great Singapore sale is going on. I had no intention of buying anything, but again.. I bought a dress from Tangs. But this time, it’s from Martina Pink. I think this brand is a special brand in Tangs, the dresses are quite expensive, but the dress I bought was on 30% sale, so I think it’s quite worth it to grab one :)

with love,
